Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled IT Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide technical support for both hardware and software, manage IT infrastructure, and ensure smooth day-to-day technology operations across the organization. You will work closely with all departments to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and improve overall IT performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, and in-person for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, servers, and other IT infrastructure.
- Manage system upgrades, security patches, and routine maintenance of systems and software.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Implement and maintain IT security protocols, including firewalls, antivirus software, and data encryption.
- Maintain IT documentation, including hardware inventories, software licenses, and technical processes.
- Manage backup systems and disaster recovery plans to ensure data protection.
- Support the setup and configuration of user accounts, email, and access permissions.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technologies and optimize existing systems.
- Provide training and assistance to staff on IT systems and best practices.
- Maintain and support the company's cloud infrastructure, including Office 365, G Suite, or equivalent.
- Handle procurement of IT equipment and software as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist, IT Technician, or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
- Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Familiarity with cloud services like Microsoft Azure, Office 365, AWS, or similar.
- Experience with network management (LAN, WAN, VPNs) and security protocols.
- Solid troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex issues.
- Knowledge of Active Directory, group policies, and user account management.
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
Preferred Skills:
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Experience with virtualization technologies like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python.
- Familiarity with database management systems (SQL, MySQL).
