Nairobi Treaty

This Treaty requires member states to safeguard the Olympic symbol—the five interlocking rings—against any unauthorized commercial use without permission from the International Olympic Committee. The Treaty is open to any country that is a member of WIPO, the Paris Convention for the Protection of Industrial Property (1883), the United Nations, or any specialized agencies affiliated with the United Nations. Instruments of ratification, acceptance, approval, or accession must be submitted to the Director General of WIPO.
