Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances (BTAP)
Beijing Treaty on Audiovisual Performances is designed to address the rights of performers in audiovisual works. Its adoption in 2012 and entry into force in 2020 marked a significant step forward for actors, musicians, dancers, and other performers involved in films, television shows, and other visual productions.
The Beijing Treaty grants performers key rights such as ‘Right of Reproduction, Right of Distribution, Right of Rental, Right of Making Available (by wire or wireless means) and Right of Broadcasting and Communication to the Public.
