The Marrakesh VIP Treaty is an international copyright treaty administered by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
It mandates that Contracting Parties implement standardised copyright limitations and exceptions to enable the reproduction, distribution, and accessibility of published works in formats suitable for visually impaired persons (VIPs). The treaty also allows organisations serving these beneficiaries to exchange accessible format works across borders.
The treaty applies to works in the form of text, notation, and/or related illustrations, whether published or publicly available in any medium, including audiobooks.
