Vienna Agreement 

Vienna Agreement Establishing an International Classification of the Figurative Elements of Marks, often simply called the Vienna Agreement. This international treaty, administered by WIPO, was concluded in Vienna, Austria, in 1973.

The main objective of the Vienna Agreement is to establish and maintain a unified, international classification system for the figurative (picture) elements of trademarks. This system is known as the Vienna Classification. 

Contracting states are obliged to use the  Vienna Classification when they register trademarks that contain logos, images, symbols, or other non-word elements.
